Field Service Engineer

FMS Integration LLC supplies integration solutions for Data Centers, Data Center Applications and similar Mission-Critical Facilities.

 

COMPENSATION
$70,000-$85,000 annual salary, based on experience and qualifications

 

SUMMARY
Full-time, based in Northern Virginia
Estimated 35%-50% remote/home office and 50%-65% travel – primary travel in East Coast region, however some travel within contiguous US states required.

Primary responsibilities include completing integration wiring and device programming using
EPMS, DCiM and BAS/BMS systems. Includes regular travel to client sites to perform site surveys, troubleshooting, working with third-party equipment and installation. When not on-site, you will be responsible for developing communication on required wiring/termination, client support and
programming integration hardware.

The ideal candidate has a degree/certification in electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
Industrial experience in utility or data center operations preferred. Must be able to understand,
document, communicate and implement various electrical configurations- to include connection
drawings, inter-connection drawings and schematics.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/SKILLS:
Responsible for client support and completion of electrical installation, validation, post-installation
support and documentation.

  • Strong problem-solving and research ability
  • Ability to travel regularly for new startups, retrofits, data validation/commissioning,
    troubleshooting, and/or client support
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, establish priorities, work independently as part
    of a team, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to interact and communicate professionally
  • Proven track record of reliability, integrity and responsibility
  • Perform and validate wiring terminations
  • Perform and validate integration hardware programming
  • Perform and test communication between/with field devices (3rd party hardware)
  • Update/create documentation upon site survey completion and/or client modification
    request

 

REQUIREMENTS:
⇒ Excellent oral and written communication skills
⇒ High proficiency with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office
⇒ Electrical/Mechanical background
⇒ Associates Degree preferred, Trade or Vocational training accepted based on experience
⇒ Must have a valid Driver License with clean driving record
⇒ Must pass criminal background check
⇒ Must pass pre-employment drug screening
⇒ Ability to stand/sit for long periods
⇒ Frequent bending and stooping when on-site
⇒ Ability to lift up to 50lbs and physically navigate Raised-Floor designs
⇒ Ability to set up/use 6 ft ladder
⇒ Microsoft VISIO, Sketch-up or CAD knowledge preferred
⇒ SCADA, HMI experience preferred
⇒ 4-20mA Analog Sensor data and Dry-Contact interface knowledge
⇒ Tridium Niagara Experience preferred
⇒ Willingness to learn communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, SNMP, OPC, JSON,
MQTT
